Gate
If your Army contains Gates, any of your Squads may start the game in Holding. Gates are always Transports but are not taken with any Units aboard. Gates do not count against your number of allowed Groups. For Direct Deployment, each Gate is treated as a Group. A Gate is never part of another Group, but any number of them which have not yet been activated that Round may be activated together with any non-Gate Group. They then complete that activation as if they were a Group. Gates can only be activated this way except during the Orphaned Transport Activations step of the Activation Phase, where any un-activated Gates must activate together. Squads in Holding may Disembark from ANY Gate/s providing their Transport Symbols match. Squads which Embark into Gates are placed into Holding. Any Objects they are carrying are passed to the Gate, even if it's an Aircraft. Squads may Embark or Disembark into or from a Gate during their own Activation, even if the Gate is not a part of that Activation. All other Embarking/Disembarking rules and restrictions still apply. Additionally, Gates may not Embark/Disembark more than their Symbol indicates per Round, but they may do both. For example, a Gate with 6 could Embark 6, then Disembark 6. Units in Holding at the end of the game only count as destroyed if you have no Units which could return them to the Table if there were another Round.
